Proud Rural Living in the Heart of Utah Revised Feb 4, 2026
The beaver, in this charming creature we see a quiet strength, its dams a legacy of resilience that mirrors the enduring spirit of the Beaver County communities.
Toward the south, the first settlement in Beaver County ... dates from 1856, at which time Simeon F. Howd, James P. Anderson and Wilson G. Nowers arrived in Beaver Valley, commenced to build a log cabin, and made preparations for farming and stock raising.
In the midst of such trying times our sturdy Pioneers braved the perils of the Beaver Valley desert and laid the foundation of the beautiful City we here behold today ... the sons and daughters of those who, in their poverty and distress, were patriotic in the extreme and labored with persistence to surmount the obstacles which confronted them.
"There are no words that can tell the hidden spirit of the wilderness, that can reveal its mystery, its melancholy, and its charm."
